Canada has reached its first men’s FIFA World Cup, in thirty-six years, after the team defeated Jamaica, four-nil in Toronto.

The victory, means Canada, is assured of finishing in one of the top three places in the final stage of Concacaf qualifiers.

The team’s last World Cup appearance came at Mexico, in 1986, where the country finished bottom of its group without scoring a goal.

Cyle Larin and Tajon Buchanan netted Canada’s first- two goals at the half-time before Junior Hoilett and an Adrian Mariappa own goal
paved the way for Canada to clinch FIFA World Cup qualification for only the second time.
