Ahead of Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has called on political parties and their candidates to warn their agents and supporters against acts of violence that may mar the election.

Chairman of the Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu while speaking at a meeting with the Inter-agency Consultative Committee on election security, stressed the need for parties to see the election as a contest and not war.

Corroborating the INEC Chairman’s remarks, the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno said a lot had been done on the part of security agencies in preparation for the election.
