Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has directed that all building construction processes in the island be placed on hold, to give room for a comprehensive audit by the officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA.
Sanwo-Olu’s directive followed the collapse of a seven storey building under construction in the Banana Island area of the state trapping twenty-five construction workers.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso said the government had launched a probe into the collapse of a seven-storey building under construction on Banana Island, Ikoyi.
According to Omotoso, nobody died in the incident, as twenty-five people were rescued from the site.
