The Lagos State Government will today begin the removal of perimeter fences within two metres of drainage channels on Norman Williams, Awolowo and Ribadu roads in the Ikoyi axis of the State.

In a statement, the State’s Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, says the exercise comes after the expiration of the grace period given to property owners in the affected areas.

According to the statement, Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, was at Norman Williams Street to see the level of compliance.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu, who was with the commissioner, condemned the recalcitrant attitude of the homeowners.
