The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved the sum of three point two billion naira for the procurement of modern Explosives and Narcotics Detection scanners for use in five major Airports across Nigeria.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, disclosed this while briefing State House Correspondents after the weekly FEC meeting in Abuja.
The five international Airports are Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Port-Harcourt and Enugu.
The Minister added that the procurement of Airport scanners would put an end to officials having to manually search the bags of passengers passing through the Airports.
