President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered a clamp down on these sabotaging the distribution and supply network of petrol at depots.
Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu said the President had directed that steps be taken to arrest the rises in petrol and electricity distribution across the land.
President Buhari was responding to the fuel scarcity and nationwide blackout being witnessed by many Nigerians.
The statement said the President expressed his regrets over the discomfort being experienced.
He said government was also planning for the long term, adding that the administration was structuring a situation that will prevent the surging prices of petroleum in the international market from touching Nigerian consumers.
