The State Government has restated it’s commitment to make education a major pillar in building a greater Lagos.

Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo stated this at the first edition of the Nigeria Union of Teachers annual lecture and award series renamed; Micheal Alogba Annual Lecture and Award Series.

The Commissioner who stood-in for Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu and also doubled as one of the guest speakers at the event said part of efforts of the state government to boost education in the state was the introduction of the comprehensive schools programme.

This according to her, was to ensure that every child in Lagos, under the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu, gets the best education.

She said the programme which has kicked off in twelve schools across the state was basically a response to the high number of students dropping out of the public secondary school system in the state.

Also noting that EkoEXCEL was working, she said its implementation has standardized the teaching process in schools especially at the basic level through the use of technology.
