GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU DECLARES OPEN “EKO NAFEST 2022”.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, has declared open this year’s National Festival of Arts and Culture, tagged EKO NAFEST 2022.

The annual festival which is the thirty-fifth edition was last hosted in Lagos in 1970 when it was pioneered.

Governor Sanwo-olu said that the decision to host the 2022 edition was borne out of the desire to further support and showcase arts, crafts, entertainment and the aquatic splendor of Lagos.

On his part, the Director General of National Council for Arts and Culture, Segun Runsewe, said that this year’s National Festival of Arts and Culture was designed to renew synergy between the Council and the Lagos State Government.

In her welcome address, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, who noted that event had over the years proven to be a unifying platform for all tribes in the country, urged all participants not to forget the inherent message in the festival of culture and arts.
