The Senate Committee on Special Duties has summoned the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed.
The summon is over the two hundred and six billion naira inserted into the 2023 budget of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
Its Minister, Sadiya Farouq, who had appeared before the committee for defence of the ministry’s 2023 budget, explained the figure were for projects in 2022 .
According to her, this was not released and part of it was part for the North East Development Commission.
The Minister also said her Ministry would clarify from the ministry of finance to know why this increase in spite of the fact that the previous year, the money was not even released for the project.
