The official ground-breaking ceremony of the new ECOWAS Headquarters complex has been performed by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
The edifice also known as the Eye of West Africa will be constructed by the Chinese Government after a series of agreements between the Western African bloc and China.
President Buhari said it would strengthen the brotherhood of African countries.
The building will house the three major ECOWAS Institutions, including the ECOWAS Commission, the Community Court of Justice and the Parliament.
