Poland is increasing pressure on Germany to allow the re-export of its Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine.
The country said it submitted a formal request asking Berlin to send weapons that Kyiv sees as crucial to repel the Russian invasion.
Under military procurement rules, Germany must authorise any re-exports with its Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, being wary of moves that could cause Moscow to escalate further.
Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, in a meeting with German Defence Minister, Boris Pistorius, hints at an imminent move.
