Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says his administration will continue to ensure the safety of lives and properties of people in the state.
He gave the assurance during an on the site assessment of a seven-storey building which collapsed in Banana Island, Lagos, saying
According to the Governor, who also inspected other infrastructure in the area, a seven man committee had been set up by the state Government to independently ascertain the cause of the incident.
Sanwo-Olu said the incident which was due to the recklessness of some developers and officers who were not alive to their responsibilities was heart broken.
During an assessment of the site, the Governor also ordered the demolition of some storey buildings for non compliance to safety standards.
