President Bola Tinubu has returned the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON to the Office of the Vice President, Kashim Shettima for supervision.
In a statement signed by the Director of Information in the Office of the Vice President, Olusola Abiola, the action of the President was in compliance with their various establishment Acts.
The statement added that the President has also approved a formal structure and an appropriate number of technical and administrative aides that will work with the Vice President in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari, during his second term, removed NAHCON and NEMA from the supervision of the Vice President and placed them under the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development respectively.
