The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has warned political parties to desist from spreading fake news, ahead of the eleventh November Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo governorship elections.

The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, gave this warning in a statement in Abuja.

This followed a statement by the Social Democratic Party that INEC was configuring Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines, BIVAS, at the Government House, Lokoja, to manipulate the state governorship election.

Oyekanmi, said that the configuration of BVAS was done simultaneously and exclusively in INEC offices in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi by teams deployed from the national headquarters, Abuja.
