LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT EMPOWERS YOUTH, WOMEN

The Lagos State government says it will continue to prioritise youth and women empowerment, in its drive to reduce poverty and uplift the standard of living of its citizens.

The State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu said this at the year 2023 Micro Enterprise Support Initiative Programme, held at the Blue Roof, LTV complex, Agidingbi, Ikeja.

Represented by his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, the Governor reiterated that his administration is committed to enhancing skills acquisition and adult education to empower residents with qualitative and valuable skills.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Bolaji Dada said the state had zero tolerance for idleness in the state.

She explained that the initiative was to encourage financial independence of the individuals and motivate them to contribute to the economic development of the state.

At the occasion, graduands from the 19 skill acquisition centres in the state were given start up packs.
