Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has called for proper sanitation and hygiene in and around markets across the state.
The Governor said this at the commissioning of Sabo Ultra Modern Market, in Yaba Local Government, where he was represented by his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
He noted that preserving the newly remodeled structure is not just a matter of aesthetics but also a crucial step toward maintaining collective health and well-being.
The Governor stressed the importance of the market to the residents of the local government.
In his welcome address, the chairman, Kayode Omiyale, said with the new market, Street trading will not be tolerated in the local government.
The Ultra Modern market comprised over three hundred locked-up shops, eighty suites, and over one hundred key clamps, including a car park, modern toilets, and a mobile health center.
