Several people escaped death on Sunday when a fire gutted some makeshift structures in the Ikate-Elegushi area of Lekki.
The fire affected the makeshift structures around the vicinity of Star Road, by Horizon Heights, Ikate-Elegushi, Lekki.
Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service Margaret, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday.
She stated that the fire has been extinguished, with ongoing operations focused on dampening down remaining hotspots to ensure complete containment and safety of the affected area.
