President Muhammadu Buhari has conveyed Nigeria’s condolences to the government and people of Japan over the assassination of former Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.
A statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, hailed the late Abe for his contributions to global economic development and strengthening the Nigerian/Japanese relations.
In joining all Japanese to mourn the loss of the country’s longest serving Prime Minister and outstanding leader, Buhari assured Abe’s family of the prayers and thoughts of all Nigerians during this difficult time.
He said that Abe would be remembered for his unwavering commitment to strengthening trade and investment between Africa and Japan through various initiatives and partnerships.
The President, also affirmed that under the late Japanese prime minister, Nigeria and Japan enjoyed a strategic partnership, supporting each other’s shared aspirations on economic cooperation, healthcare, human resource development, disaster risk reduction, peace and security.
