The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence has said Russia’s plan to expand its armed forces might not have an impact on the Ukraine war.
The Ministry of Defence said the boost was unlikely to increase Russia’s combat power, because of ongoing losses.
Vladimir Putin recently signed a decree to increase the Russian armed forces’ military personnel to more than one million, one hundred and fifty thousand, a potential increase of one hundred and thirty seven thousand.
According to reports, recruiters have even been visiting prisons, promising inmates freedom and money following President Putin’s decree which came amid a military recruitment drive.
