The Federal Government has approved the Lagos State Government proposed Lekki International Airport.
Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika presented the letter of approval to the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the ongoing ninth Lagos Economic Summit, Ehingbeti.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who was elated noted that the project is for the benefit of residents.
Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that the Lekki International Airport will be designed for a capacity of five million passengers and Cargoes.
On his part, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika noted that Lagos has the resources and exigencies for an additional airport ‘which will help to decongest the Murtala Mohammed International Airport’.
