STATE GOVERNMENT, NATIONAL PRIMARY HEALTH CARE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, KICKS OFF POLIO OUTBREAK RESPONSE CAMPAIGN.

The State Government, in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, has started Polio Outbreak Response Campaign following discovery of circulating poliovirus strains in the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Dr Ibrahim Mustafa, made this known in a statement in Lagos.

Mustafa, noted that the campaign was necessary to prevent a setback in the country’s laudable achievements, adding that it is critical to maintain the country’s polio-free status, following the certification received in August 2020.

According to him, the campaign will take place between January 21 to 24 in all Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas of the state.
