Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appealed for continuous prayers for those in authority.
Sanwo-olu gave the charge at the Annual Public Ramadan lecture of the ANSARUD- DEEN Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Council, where he was represented by the Deputy Governor, Doctor Obafemi Hamzat.
He noted that nobody would aspire for a position of authority with the intention to fail, hence the need for prayers to prevent them from derailing.
The Governor expressed appreciation to residents of the state for giving their votes to the APC during the just concluded general elections.
In his welcome speech, the Council chairman of Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Council, Abdulrahman Salaudeen, implored Muslims to always remember selflessness, charity, and compassion as the core values which symbolise the unity of Islam.
On his part, the Chairman of the occasion, Jubril Ayinla, urged parents to raise cultured children with high moral standards who would later become responsible leaders.
