Lagos State Ferry Services, LAGFERRY, has launched a new ferry route from Badagry to Marina.
Speaking during a stakeholders meeting held at the Ferry Terminal, Ebute Miller, Badagry, the Managing Director, LAGFERRY, Abdoulbaq Balogun, appealed for cooperation of Badagry residents, to enable the government to achieve seamless water transportation.
Balogun, who was represented by the Head, Admin and Human Resources of the agency, Bunmi Mofunlewi said the commencement of operation at the terminal represented a platform for connectivity, adding that the operation would also bring numerous economic and social benefits to the community.
He stressed that the State Government was committed to improving water transportation as a panacea to traffic congestion.
The Akran of Badagry who was represented by the Agoloto of Badagry, Hundogan Samuel, expressed his gratitude to the State Government and asked for employment of Badagry youths to assist in sale of tickets and proper maintenance of the terminal.
