PRESIDENT TINUBU RECEIVES MUSLIM DELEGATION ON NIGER CONFLICT.

President Bola Tinubu has received a delegation of Nigerian Muslim leaders, led by Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, and accepted their mediation in Niger conflict.

The leaders were at the State House to consult with the President on the situation in the Republic of Niger.

The president had on Tuesday declared that all options were still opened to find an amicable resolution to that country’s political crisis.

Speaking to journalists, Sheikh Bala Lau, said the delegation pledged to find a lasting and peaceful solution to the crisis in neighbouring Niger Republic.

In a related development, former Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, also met with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday to give the report of his meeting with the leader of the Niger Coup, Abdourahmane Tchiani.

The National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, has urged the police to synergise with other security and law enforcement agencies to ensure successful implementation of government’s “Safe School Initiative”.

Ribadu, made the call in Abuja at the Police Strategic Forum on Achieving safe schools in Nigeria.

The NSA said the initiative would strengthen collaboration between security and law enforcement stakeholders to address security vulnerability of schools and other educational institutions.

In his remarks, the Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, said the inauguration of the Standard Operating Procedure, SOP manual was a step in the right direction.

Egbetokun, noted that the focus was to achieve a secured educational environment for school children.
