Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a 36-year-old Nigerian based in Italy, Nwakanma Uche at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for ingesting pellets of heroin.
Uche, who hails from Ideato Local Government Area in Imo State, was nabbed while trying to board Air France Airline enroute Abuja-Paris-Milan, Italy on Sunday May fifteenth.
NDLEA Director Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, said Uche was kept under observation during which he excreted ninety-five pellets of the illicit drug.
Uche claimed he came to see his parents in Nigeria, after twelve years in Italy and to complete his father’s traditional marriage rites.
The NDLEA Media Director explained that the suspect said he was to be paid one point five million naira after a successful delivery of the drugs in Milan.
